Anchoring your team through leadership succession
In leadership circles, we spend a lot of time talking about how to step up, but we rarely explore the nuances of stepping back. When Griff Davenport transitioned from CEO to Chair at DLR Group, he moved from the center of the action to the strategic advocacy. Having helped the firm navigate an era of 2000% growth, Griff realized his next contribution was about creating the space for others to lead.
This isn’t a ‘how-to’ guide for succession; it’s an invitation to look at how we hold onto authority – and what might happen if we started to let it go.
